Championship Points System

The 2027 Zacker Adventures Navigational Rally Series Championship is determined by points earned during each competition day throughout the five-round series. Since each rally consists of a different number of competition days, each day is scored independently, giving riders multiple opportunities to earn championship points throughout the season.

A rider's Championship Total is the sum of all points earned across every competition day.

Daily Results

Daily results are determined by:

  • Successful completion of the official digital roadbook.

  • Verification of all required checkpoints.

  • Navigation accuracy.

  • Any penalties assessed by Rally Officials.

  • Total adjusted competition time or score.

The rider with the best adjusted result for the day is awarded 25 Championship Points.

DNF vs. DNS

The series recognizes the commitment required to start a rally stage. Riders who make the effort to compete should receive more credit than those who do not start.

Did Not Finish (DNF)

A rider who starts a competition day but is unable to complete it due to:

  • Mechanical failure

  • Crash

  • Medical issue

  • Exceeding the maximum time limit

  • Other approved circumstance

will receive:

2 Championship Points

Did Not Start (DNS)

A rider who does not start a scheduled competition day will receive:

0 Championship Points

Event Withdrawal Example

If a competitor withdraws after completing one or more competition days, they retain all points earned before withdrawing.

Example – Round #3 (Kentucky)

  • Day 1: 2nd Place = 22 Points

  • Day 2: DNF = 2 Points

  • Day 3: DNS = 0 Points

Round Total = 24 Championship Points

Championship Tie Breakers

If two or more riders finish the season tied on Championship Points, ties will be broken in the following order:

  1. Most daily victories (1st-place finishes)

  2. Most second-place daily finishes

  3. Most third-place daily finishes

  4. Highest finishing position in the Final Round (Za Rally)

  5. Lowest total accumulated penalties throughout the season

  6. Decision of the Rally Director

Championship Class Points

Championship points are awarded only within the rider's declared competition class for each competition day.

Riders may compete in different classes throughout the season; however, Championship points are earned only in the class in which they officially start and compete on that competition day. Points earned in one class cannot be transferred, combined, or accumulated toward another class championship.

For example:

  • A rider competing in the ADV Class during Round #1 will earn Championship points only toward the ADV Class Championship.

  • If that same rider competes in the Rally Class during a later round, any points earned will count only toward the Rally Class Championship and will not be added to their ADV Class total.

Each class maintains its own independent Championship standings throughout the season.

A rider may only accumulate Championship points in one class per competition day. Cross-accumulation of Championship points between classes is not permitted.

Championship Philosophy

The Zacker Adventures Navigational Rally Series is designed to reward consistency, perseverance, and navigation skill over the course of an entire season. Because every competition day earns championship points, riders who consistently finish stages and make smart navigation decisions can remain competitive throughout the championship, even after a difficult day.

With 250 championship points available across 10 competition days, the championship will be earned by the rider who demonstrates the greatest consistency, determination, and rally navigation ability from the opening round in South Carolina to the Final in Virginia.
